Admissions Policy

Parents who wish to apply for admissions are encouraged to make an appointment with the Director to tour the center and to determine whether Whiz Kid Preschool is the right place for their child. Applications for the wait list are available in the office. Upon receipt of the application, the child’s name is added to the wait list. Within the Whiz Kid Preschool wait list, siblings of children already at the Center and neighbors living within the Veterans Park Neighborhood Boundaries receive priority. As openings occur, age-appropriate children are selected from the wait list based on application date to fill any vacancy in a class.

Whiz Kid supports the value of inclusion-the right of all children, regardless of their diverse abilities, to participate actively in natural settings with their peers. At Whiz Kid, this means that we will, on a provisional basis, accept children with special needs who meet the waiting list criteria stated above. Depending on the nature and extent of the disability, continued enrollment will depend on frequent and on-going staff-parent communication, and on careful and continuous assessment of the viability of the arrangement for all concerned.

Whiz Kid Preschool values diversity. We welcome all families without regard to race, religion, national or ethnic origin.

Registration is arranged with the Director. A non-refundable registration fee of $150.00 is required of each child at the time of registration. Only upon receiving the registration fee is a classroom spot guaranteed.

*In addition to our regular tuition schedule we offer drop in child care (space limited) $7 an hour.
